My name is Marie Palasciano and I will join the first-grade team this year! I am pursuing my Masters in Teaching at Queens University and just completed student teaching with Kristy Kirchendorfer in first-grade this past spring. It was a wonderful experience and I appreciated the amazing guidance from Kristy as well as from the first-grade team. My family and I moved to Providence Plantation from Cotswold last summer. I have two PSE graduates heading off to Crestdale this year as well as a fourth grader and second grader still here. I had the opportunity to teach a third-grade class at the end of the last school year. The third-grade team greatly supported me in helping my class finish the school year strong. I enjoyed getting to know the students, teachers and staff in the upper grades as well. I’m looking forward to being a part of the PSE community this year!
Hi! My name is Madison Wexler. I studied Elementary Education and Early Literacy at UNCC. Fun fact about me - I went to PSE from 2nd grade until 5th grade. I have the best memories from elementary school and I love making even more memories now as a teacher. In my free time I love to spend time outside, read and listen to podcasts. Welcome to first grade!

Hello PSE Family! My name is Ayanna McCaskey and I am so excited to be part of the Providence Spring Elementary teaching first grade! I have been teaching for 12 years. I taught Kindergarten for 10 years at Elon Park Elementary and 2 years at Highland Renaissance Academy in Kindergarten and Second grade. I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I received my Bachelors degree. I was also inducted into the North Carolina Teaching Fellows this year. I am so excited to continue to grow in my profession as a teacher.
I was born and raised in Winston Salem, NC. Bernard and I have 2 girls, Noelle and Makayla. Noelle is 6 and will be joining me at Providence Springs in First grade and Makayla is 1 years old. In January, we are expecting a new edition to our family. I am currently pregnant with our third baby. We can’t wait to find out if it is a boy or girl! In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, dancing, crafting, and spending quality time with my family.
I am very excited to be a Rocket and cannot wait to meet my students and their families!
Hey there! My name is Rachel Friel. Growing up in the Charlotte area, I was lucky enough to attend PSE as a student the first year it opened. My time spent at Providence Spring was unforgettable and for that reason I am honored to return as a teacher to such a wonderful community of students, staff, and families. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from North Carolina State University. During my time at NC State I was able to student teach in Raleigh, NC as well as abroad at an international boarding school in Beijing, China. After graduation, I began teaching in Columbus, Ohio before returning to Charlotte this summer. Through my experiences in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools, I began to develop a great love for learning which turned into a passion for teaching. As a teacher at Providence Spring, I strive to instill this same love for learning in each of my students. In addition to teaching, I love to read, paint, and be active! Some of my favorite activities include riding bikes, Crossfit, and playing with my dog Leia.

My name is Kim Stewart. I have been teaching first grade in CMS for 19 years. I have been at Providence Spring Elementary since we opened in August 2002. Prior to working in CMS I taught in the Catholic School System (grades K, 2, 7 & 8). I’ve also spent many years in the accounting field working in a small CPA firm. I graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and I’m a National Board Certified Teacher.
When I’m not in school I can be found tutoring children after school, playing with my grandchildren, going to work out or just taking a walk around my neighborhood with my husband, Marshall and my dog, Lexi. I enjoy going for hikes in the mountains or just reading a book on the beach. I love shopping but most of all I love attending the Carolina Panthers football games!
